Holiday Dog Treats

Ingredients

1 large egg

1 cup mashed ripe banana

1 tablespoon honey

1/2 cup smooth peanut butter

1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour

1/2 cup oatmeal

1/4 cup ground flaxseed

Directions [1] Preheat oven to 300 and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease the cookie sheet.  [2] In a medium-sized bowl, mix and beat together the egg, peanut butter, honey and mashed banana. [3] In a smaller bowl combine flour, oatmeal and flaxseed.  [4] Add the flour mixture to the large bowl and mix all ingredients together really well.  [5] Turn onto a floured surface. At this point, you may want to add a bit more flour if you find that the dough is a bit sticky. With a floured rolling pin roll out the dough to the thickness of your cookie cutter. [6] Place the cookies on the baking sheet and bake for approximately 20–30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely before letting your pooch sample.
