Fun things to do near Cocoa Beach
Kennedy Space Center
Just north of Cocoa Beach is the site where the first Americans took flight into space to orbit Earth and land on the moon in 1967. Today, you can go to the visitor complex and see historic aircraft and rockets, artifacts and memorabilia, and space-related Imax movies.
Ron Jon Surf Shop
Find surfing and bodyboarding equipment at the largest and most famous surfing shop in the world. The shop also houses the Cocoa Beach Surf Museum with exhibits highlighting surfing on the East Coast.
This 75-acre nonprofit facility in Melbourne is home to more than 900 animals representing more than 195 species from Florida, South America, Africa, Asia and Australia.
In nearby Port Canaveral, the Exploration Tower is a unique building with seven floors of interactive exhibits and observation decks, plus a cafe and gift shop.
