Inspired by the enterprising big city bartenders who created iconic New York-centric cocktails (like the classic Manhattan), spirits specialist and writer-at-large Terry Cermak created a series of local cocktails to celebrate Hilton Head landmarks, events and founding fathers for LOCAL Life and Rollers Wine & Spirits. This month’s cocktail is The Pinckney Island. Much of Hilton Head’s history is reflected in Pickney Island’s breathtaking journey from cotton plantation to hunting retreat to national wildlife refuge.
The Pinckney Island
2 ounces Hilton Head Distillery Toasted Coconut Rum
1/2 ounce pamplemousse rosé
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
Add all ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a stem of microherbs.
