About the Contest
- From September 1 to September 30, submit one image in the amateur or professional category (not both).
- All photos are reviewed by a panel of judges who will select two winners (one from the amateur category and one from the professional category) to be featured in the November 2020 issue of LOCAL Life.
- There will also be a Readers’ Choice vote from October 1 to October 9 and the two winners (one from the amateur category and one from the professional category) will also be featured in November 2020 issue of LOCAL Life.

Panel of Judges
There will be two local judges, Lisa Staff and Marge Agin. They will begin judging on October 1, once the submission period has ended. The judges will agree on one winner from the amateur category and one winner from the professional category.
Readers’ Choice Award
In addition to the panel of judges, we will have a readers’ choice award from October 1 to October 9. You can vote once per day. The photo submission with the most votes in each category will win the Readers’ Choice Award and be featured in the November 2020 issue of LOCAL Life.
LOCAL Life’s Images of The Lowcountry Photo Contest is for both amateur and professional photographers.
You are qualified as a professional photographer if you have been paid for your photography.
You may only submit one photo to one category. You cannot submit to both the amateur and professional categories.
Each category will be judged separately by a panel of photography experts. The winner of the amateur category will receive a $250 store credit to Outside Hilton Head and their photo will be featured in the November 2020 issue of LOCAL Life. The winner of the professional category will receive a SIGNIFICANT profile in the November 2020 issue of LOCAL Life and on LOCAL Life’s social media channels.
Additionally, LOCAL Life magazine will host an online Readers’ Choice award and those two winners (one from each category) will be announced in the November 2020 issue of LOCAL Life.
All submitted photographs must be in digital format. Only online entries will be eligible. All digital files must be 6 megabytes or smaller, in JPEG or .jpg format, and at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image). The photographers of the images selected as finalists will be asked to provide the RAW or original camera file (minimum 3,000 pixels wide).
Entrants agree to abide by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of the contest administrators. Entrants grant to LOCAL Life magazine the right to use and publish their name and photograph online and in print.
