WWMD (What would Margaret drink?) – August 2021

Margaret Pearman is a certified sommelier under the Court of Master Sommeliers and is responsible for curating the award-winning wine list at Charlie’s L’Etoile Verte. Here is her sipping suggestion for August:

Cucumber Lemon Fizz

Up until a few months ago, I totally misunderstood “dog people.” Dogs had always been in my life, but they had never really been mine. I gave in to my 6-year old’s begging and pleading, and by the end of February, a black and white 10-week-old cockapoo was delivered at our doorstep. We named him Oliver. He quickly imprinted on me as I was the one waking in the middle of the night, feeding and cleaning up messes. Oliver immediately stole my heart. As the temperatures have dialed up, Oliver has struggled to keep cool. As soon as we return home in the evening, he sprawls his body out with his legs flat on the floor. What do I do to find some cool? I suggest mixing up a Cucumber Lemon Fizz. Fresh, bubbly and finishes with the cooling mint make it the perfect cocktail for the dog days of summer.

Charlie’s L’Etoile Verte recently welcomed a new four-legged team member, Oliver. He is learning the ropes of the restaurant, all while becoming a good little boy.
