Intern Testimonials

Class: 2028
Summer 2026 Intern

“This summer, I’ve had the opportunity to intern at Local Life Magazine in Hilton Head, and the experience has exceeded my expectations. I’ve really enjoyed my time here, and getting to work alongside two other interns has made it even more enjoyable. Learning together, collaborating on projects, and dividing tasks has created a supportive work environment. I’ve also been fortunate to work alongside a talented team of professionals who have been incredibly welcoming, supportive, and always willing to share their knowledge and offer guidance. As an editorial and graphic design intern, I’ve been able to help design digital programmatic ads, film and edit social media content, write articles, and participate in monthly meetings to review layouts and discuss design ideas. Throughout my internship, I’ve also been able to apply many of the Graphic Communications skills I’ve learned at Clemson in a professional setting. Seeing my work published in the magazine and shared on social media has been both exciting and rewarding. I would highly recommend this internship to anyone looking for hands-on experience in publishing, design, writing, and content creation.”

Summer 2026 Intern

“I had the privilege of joining the Local Life team this summer as a Graphic Design Intern. This internship helped me grow in more ways than one. I’ve gotten to develop my Graphic Design skills through several different projects, from ads to full page layouts. I received so much help and advice from the amazing designers here, whilst still being given the space to try new things and work independently. I’ve lived in Hilton Head my whole life, but through this internship, I got to see the island through a different perspective. It was so much fun diving into topics and writing stories about people and places I had never noticed. My fellow interns made this experience that much better. Between the three interns, we all had different strengths and weaknesses that made working together on projects so much fun. The Local Life team has been nothing but encouraging and enthusiastic about our growth as interns, and I can’t recommend it enough. They were so patient with us and always willing to answer any questions we had. This internship was both educational and enjoyable at the same time and I am beyond grateful I got to spend my summer with Local Life.”
