Key Points
● Symmetry, repeated finishes and coordinated furnishings create a sense of order without making the bedroom feel overly formal.
● Botanical artwork, expansive windows and layered natural textures strengthen the connection between the bedroom and its surrounding landscape.
● A crystal chandelier, upholstered seating and practical bedside and bench pieces add polish and comfort while keeping the room inviting.
Perfect symmetry gives this bedroom its unmistakable sense of calm. Designed by The Bramble Company and shared by interior and commercial designer Pam Brester of Coastal Home, the space demonstrates how thoughtful repetition, natural textures and a restrained palette can turn a large room into a peaceful retreat. Expansive steel-framed windows blur the boundary between indoors and out, making the surrounding landscape an essential part of the design. Creamy neutrals, warm walnut, leafy greens, black accents and touches of brass repeat throughout the room, while layers of wood, upholstery, crystal and textiles add richness without sacrificing serenity. Many of these furnishings can be seen at Coastal Home’s showroom near the bridge to Hilton Head Island, where shoppers can also explore customizable finishes and fabrics to create a similar look at home.
1. Let nature set the tone
Three framed botanical panels replace traditional artwork, creating a lush backdrop behind the bed. Their oversized palm fronds echo the landscape beyond the windows, strengthening the connection to nature while introducing calming shades of green. Neutral draperies and a chunky loop-pile rug add texture and complete the room’s layered design, softening the space while enhancing its inviting warmth and sophisticated feel.
2. Build around beautifully crafted furniture
Bramble’s Vivienne Upholstered King Bed anchors the room with solid hardwood construction, a rich walnut finish and a tailored upholstered headboard. The coordinating Vivienne arched mirror and seven-drawer dresser extend the collection’s refined styling while adding generous storage and completing the room’s tailored look.

3. Make a statement with a chandelier
Every restful bedroom benefits from one dramatic statement, and here it’s the cascading crystal chandelier. Its shimmering tiers draw the eye upward, emphasizing the room’s generous ceiling height while adding a touch of glamour. Although it’s the room’s most eye- catching feature, the chandelier also complements the brass hardware found throughout the space, allowing it to feel connected rather than overpowering.
4. Layer comfort with character
Rather than matching bedside tables, the designer pairs Vivienne two- and three-drawer bedside tables for a look that’s coordinated without feeling too formal. Shared bead molding, tapered legs and brass hardware reinforce the room’s symmetry. Nearby, a woven Nantucket swivel chair and Milano round side table create a cozy reading nook for morning coffee, an afternoon read or an evening nightcap.
5. Make room for beautiful function
Matching the rest of the room, Bramble’s Vivienne Medium Bench extends the warm walnut finish to the foot of the bed while introducing another layer of soft upholstery. It offers a convenient place to sit while dressing, set out tomorrow’s clothes or display a favorite throw, showing that beautiful furniture can be as practical as it is stylish.
