In the realm of interior design, there is a profound joy in revitalizing outdated rooms and infusing them with a sleek and visually appealing aesthetic. It is an art form that not only pleases the eye but also inspires on various levels, compelling us to rediscover the hidden beauty that lies beneath. With meticulous planning and ingenious reconfiguration, Frank Corn and Nancy Schmitz, ASID of Signature Closets and Cabinetry of the Low Country helped transform three distinct spaces into elevated havens of elegance and sophistication.
Elegance and functionality unite
This stylish transitional kitchen prioritizes functionality and ease of movement. Overlooking the family room, it was upgraded with exquisite details, including a quartzite island countertop with navy-blue veining, custom mullion-glass cabinetry doors and fluted columns. Mirrored accents, sea-glass tiles and glass and brass door and drawer pulls add elegance. Signature Closets provided thoughtful storage solutions, including a hidden pantry and beverage center, while integrated lighting and energy-efficient appliances promote sustainability. The result is a high-traffic space that seamlessly combines elegance, practicality and entertainment capabilities.
An inviting and vibrant gathering areaÂ
The subtle yet striking transformation of this gathering space creates an inviting atmosphere for a bustling family. Reflecting the vibrant nature of its occupants, the entertainment center takes center stage with a bold choice of color. The lacquered navy-blue finish, artfully hand-glazed in black, captivates attention from both the kitchen and dining room. Additional enhancements include a modern fireplace, surround-sound system, tasteful wallpaper and the touch of elegance brought by champagne brass hardware. With Travertine floors and durable Perennials fabrics, longevity is ensured without compromising on style and comfort.
A sophisticated sanctuaryÂ
Elevating a dated butler’s pantry to new heights, the owners aimed to infuse personality and sophistication into their guests’ experience. Drawing inspiration from a blooming parterre garden on the property, the space embraces an Old World charm with topiary wallpaper, chinoiserie accents and lantern-style lighting. Three-sided glass doors and natural white oak cabinetry beautifully frame open brass shelving, catering to the needs of an avid collector. Practicality meets style with a built-in wine drawer, sink, and durable quartz countertop, perfect for any mixologist’s recipe. The addition of a barrel-vaulted ceiling, adorned with reclaimed brick, creates a captivating focal point.
