Treasures collected over the years add a certain magic to a home, elevating it from simply a living space into a story that unfolds the more you settle in. In this Palmetto Bluff residence, a gifted cheetah ceramic held such significance that it influenced not just one room, but the entire house. “That was our little mascot, and it kind of became a thing,” says Kelly Caron, founder of Kelly Caron Designs and principal designer on the project.
Inspired by the sculpture’s dotted coat, Caron and the homeowner carried the pattern throughout the home. In the
formal living room a matching set of stools complements the beloved art piece. In the cozy keeping room a trio of throw pillows flaunts the same playful spots. A gray cheetah-print carpet races up the staircase. Those touches, Caron says, fill the home with personality and joy. “It started as a gift to the client, and we embraced it throughout the house,” she says. “It’s fun and youthful, but it can be done in a classy way.”
