Today’s dressing rooms are no longer treated as oversized closets hidden behind bedroom doors. They have become highly personal spaces where daily routines begin and end, designed as much around lifestyle as storage. In many luxury homes, separate his-and-hers dressing rooms allow each space to develop a personality of its own, reflecting individual tastes while making everyday life feel a little more organized, polished and indulgent.

For the primary suite of this River Club home, Group 3 designed two private dressing rooms that feel more like elegant boutiques than traditional closets. Tailored suits, handbags, jewelry and travel essentials are all given a place of importance, transforming everyday storage into something far more curated and intentional.
“Before any aesthetic elements are considered, we take detailed measurements and learn how each client lives,” says principal architect Mike Ruegamer. “We study everything from hanging space and shoe storage to custom drawers for jewelry, watches and personal items. The functionality always comes first.”

That thoughtful planning allowed each dressing room to take on its own distinct atmosphere. One space leans warm, tailored and richly layered. The other feels bright, refined and softly glamorous. Together, they create a balanced extension of the primary suite while giving each homeowner a retreat that feels entirely their own.
