RBC Heritage Burgers: Inside Hilton Head’s Past Champions’ Burger Tradition

On the menu

The RBC Heritage is building a culinary legacy, one burger at a time.

At The Masters, champions gather each spring for the famed Champions Dinner, where the defending winner chooses the menu. On Hilton Head Island the RBC Heritage is building a tradition of its own. Since 2023 Fraser’s Tavern has invited each reigning champion to design a signature Past Champions’ Burger, choosing the meat, bun and toppings that reflect his taste.  Here’s how the lineup stacks up.

1. DLIII Five-Time Champion Burger

Davis Love III (2025) “It’s beautiful for breakfast!” The DLIII Burger is a hearty creation that is anything but ordinary. Featuring rich Tillamook pimento cheese, perfectly caramelized Vidalia onions and smoky black pepper bacon layered on a toasted brioche bun, it reflects the simple yet bold taste of the tournament’s five-time champion.

2. Defending Champion Burger

Justin Thomas (2025) After capturing the 2025 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, his 16th PGA Tour title, Thomas designed a bold, indulgent stack. His custom house-blend patty of short rib, brisket and chuck sits on a toasted hearth-baked sesame seed bun, topped with crispy Applewood bacon, smashed avocado and a fried egg, then finished with pepper jack cheese and Southwestern aioli.

3. Scheffler Burger

Scottie Scheffler (2024) The 2024 RBC Heritage champion opted for a flavorful blend of short rib, brisket and chuck, served on a sesame seed bun with crispy bacon. In a nod to his Texas roots, he added pepper jack cheese, fried jalapeños and onions, all finished with Old Bay aioli.

4. Fitzy Burger

Matt Fitzpatrick (2023) Fresh off his memorable playoff victory over Jordan Spieth in 2023, Fitzpatrick created a refined combination of short rib, brisket and chuck, topped with Applewood smoked bacon, Emmental Swiss cheese and garlic herb aioli on a hearth-baked sesame seed bun.

So which one do you choose?

No matter your pick, everyone wins. One dollar from every burger sold supports a charity chosen by the Heritage Classic Foundation, proving that this growing food tradition is about more than great taste.
