Room of the month: Euro-Southern fusion

European elegance meets Southern charm in this Palmetto Bluff kitchen.

The homeowners envisioned turning their kitchen into the central highlight of their Palmetto Bluff home — a vision realized through the collaborative efforts of Brantley King, the owner of Billy Wood Appliance, interior designer Leah Bailey and H2 Builders. Their goal was to infuse the kitchen with a blend of European and Southern charm, making the selection of the right appliances essential to turn the kitchen into a breathtaking centerpiece.

To do so, they custom designed a kitchen hood that mirrors the intricate details of the French-made La Cornue range. The hood features metal gold strapping, a nod to traditional European craftsmanship, while the combination of silver and gold on the range captures the Euro-Southern aesthetic they aimed for.

“Creating an appealing space with a beautiful range and hood creates an inviting atmosphere and will turn the cooking space into a place where culinary creativity can thrive,” King said. 

The curated choices of lighting, sink fixtures and cabinet hardware were paired with complementary upholsteries to ensure each element stands out, while preserving visual harmony. This kitchen captured their dream, with each detail contributing to a Euro-Southern blend.
