A series of dazzling fireworks shows across the Lowcountry promise to ignite summer evenings with a symphony of colors and explosions. From Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina to Harbour Town, Old Town Bluffton, The Sands, even across the border in Savannah, communities gather to celebrate the spirit of independence with spectacular displays. But these events offer more than just fireworks; they are immersive experiences filled with entertainment, music and a sense of camaraderie. Here, we explore some of the most thrilling fireworks extravaganzas and accompanying festivities, ensuring that you have an unforgettable summer filled with bright lights and cherished memories.


HarbourFest fireworks 

When: Tuesdays, June 6-Aug. 22 

Where: Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina

Details: For many visitors a trip to Hilton Head isn’t complete without experiencing Tuesday night fireworks at Shelter Cove Harbour. Youngsters can get their faces painted by Cappy the Clown, ride a train around the marina promenade and enjoy other crafts and activities. Lucky kids might even be invited on stage to sing along with singer/songwriter Shannon Tanner, who performs shows before and after the fireworks. Fireworks paddle

When: Tuesdays, June 6-Aug. 22

Where: Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina

Details: This experience combines Outside Hilton Head’s two-hour guided kayak nature tour with a viewing of the HarbourFest fireworks from the best seat in the house – in a kayak. The tour starts at 6:30 p.m. After the breathtaking sunset, your guide will lead you to a calm, protected area where your group will watch the fireworks light up the sky. Fireworks boat cruise

When: Tuesdays, June 6-Aug. 22 

Where: Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina

Details: This three-hour tour by Outside Hilton Head starts with a 90-minute Dolphin Eco Tour and ends with front-row seats for the Tuesday fireworks display over the salt marsh of Broad Creek. Following the fireworks, your captain will return to the dock around 10 p.m. The tour is not available on July 4. Learn more at outsidehiltonhead.com

Old Town fireworks 

When: July 1

Where: Oyster Family Park and Wright Family Park, Bluffton

Details: Start the Independence Day fireworks party early on Saturday, July 1, in Old Town Bluffton. Groove to live music and indulge in concessions at Martin Family Park just before the fireworks display. As the sun sets, head over to the Oyster Factory Park or Wright Family Park to watch the fireworks display.

Crowd watching fireworks and celebrating

Summer Jams

When: Tuesdays, June 13-Aug. 8 

Where: Shelter Cove Community Park 

Details: Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy Tuesday night fireworks in the park. Kids of all ages can enjoy inflatable bounce houses, face-painting and family dance music starting at 6 p.m. at this popular weekly event hosted by the Island Rec Center. The band RetroRoxx is scheduled to perform on July 4. Island Rec uses the event to generate donations for its Children’s Scholarship Fund, which keeps children from being denied childcare or recreational activities based on financial needs.

Harbour Town fireworks 

When: July 4 

Where: Harbour Town, Sea Pines Resort 

Details: Join the festivities in Harbour Town for a fireworks extravaganza that will light up the sky over the famous Harbour Town Lighthouse and Calibogue Sound. Enjoy food, fun and live music from legendary singer/songwriter Gregg Russell at 8 p.m. leading up to the fireworks show at 9 p.m. A shuttle will be available from many parking areas in Sea Pines. The Sands fireworks

When: July 4

Where: The Sands, Port Royal 

Details: Bring loved ones along for a day filled with fun and lasting memories starting at 5 p.m. July 4 at The Sands. Satisfy your cravings for classic comfort foods like hamburgers and hotdogs while the little ones enjoy themselves with face paintings and bounce houses. Guests will be in for a treat when the U.S. Marine Corps band fills the air with its patriotic tunes. The grand finale will be the fireworks display that will light up the sky.

Savannah fireworks 

When: July 4

Where: River Street, Savannah 

Details: Indulge in Savannah’s Fourth of July celebrations at the riverfront. Discover the array of dining and beverage specials offered by the local restaurants as well as various merchants along the riverfront. To make the most of your experience, bring along your favorite blankets or chairs and settle in for this shining event. Coolers are discouraged.
