When a vacation ends, most travelers take home a souvenir. These locals left with blueprints.
Bewitched by the charms of Tuscan wine country, the couple wanted to replicate its rustic beauty in their Sea Pines home. After contracting RCH Construction for a full-scale renovation, they approached the firm about bringing their Italian dreams to Hilton Head’s south end.
“They wanted their piece of Tuscany,” says Angelina Carper, RCH president.

For the wine enthusiasts, Carper envisioned a vineyard-inspired bar, integrating the architectural styles of their travels abroad into the routines of daily life. Creating it required a study in design and enology, a challenge Carper eagerly accepted.
On the backsplash and countertop, quartzite establishes a warm, upscale feel with ripples of sepia, cream and gray. Wooden cabinetry beneath provides storage thoughtfully designed to hold wine bottles at the proper temperature, humidity and orientation.
Overhead, glass shelves and a crystal chandelier sparkle. Framed by Italian limestone, the finished bar is the perfect vignette of their dream vacation — a capolavoro found right at home.
