When you’re working with a small space, why not go big? This vivid powder room, designed by Leslie Trenta of Marsh on the May Interiors for her Old Town Bluffton home, answers that question with tropical flair. Pairing a custom wallpaper, glittering décor and plenty of pink, the space balances its elements to make a grand statement despite its tight quarters.

Floral chandelier
A grand floral chandelier continues the tropical theme. Rendered in a Tuscan gold finish, its candelabra frame recalls vintage glamour as it sprawls into tranquil palm leaves, cascading overhead like sun-kissed rays.

Tropical wallpaper
Like a saltwater breeze, the wallpaper instantly imbues the space with a sunny disposition. Its vivid pattern, custom made by Trenta and textile designer Mary Catherine Folmar of Cotton and Quill, depicts a technicolor tropical scene. Below, Nickel Gap wainscoting keeps the jungle-like print from feeling unruly.

Antique vanity
Sourced from Savannah, a vintage chest of drawers serves as the base for this custom vanity. Refurbished with a waterproof marble surface and nickel sink, the piece feels reborn while maintaining its vintage charm.

Nickel sink
In the custom vanity a nickel sink adds functionality and subtle dimension. Its metal finish introduces a slightly cooler edge amid the room’s warmth, and its hammered texture cleverly echoes the crocodile soap dish at its side.

Turkish rug
As a finishing touch, a Turkish rug rests beneath the sink, softening the room’s hard surfaces. Despite its intricate pattern, its colors echo the wallpaper, creating a look that feels cohesive rather than cluttered.

Decorative soap dish
Hand-painted crocodile print covers the tray, and a mini figurine adds a touch of whimsy. Here, even the soap dish gets its moment.
